Drew North Services Inc. (DNS) began using voting technology and specifically electronic voting systems in 2015.
This involved a review and assessment of proven electronic or e-voting systems and selection of one system for initial use in a client referendum vote. The purpose of the vote was to ratify (or approve) an updated set of election rules for an indigenous government to reflect recent court rulings in Canada and also enable them to use electronic voting in future elections.
The chosen system for this vote was Simply Voting (https://www.simplyvoting.com) which was integrated with other voting methods including mail-in ballots and in-person polling stations. DNS has also utilized two other proven e-voting systems for elections and ratification votes: Vote Now (https://vote-now.com) and OneFeather (https://www.onefeather.ca).

Overall feedback from clients using this voting technology is primarily positive, and the technology has the potential to save costs while increasing voter access and reducing the timeframe required to administer an election or membership/citizenship vote.
